- Linda James: Founder and Chief Executive (unpaid)
Linda James
Badly bullied throughout her time at secondary school, BulliesOut Founder, Linda James understands the devastating affect this cruel behaviour can have on an individual. As a result of the bullying, Linda left school without sitting her exams. She also developed an eating disorder at the age of 14 – something which continued into her adult years.
Linda set up BulliesOut after her youngest son was bullied and she is responsible for the day to day running of the Charity. Linda works tirelessly to ensure both BulliesOut and its work is a success and this, alongside her determination and drive, earned her the title of Tesco Achieving Mum of the Year 2009.
Eric Kitchen – (Chair)
I live near Cowbridge and am married with 3 twenty-something sons. I have been a School Governor and Chair of a youth football club with interests that include walking, music and historic buildings. Much of my working career has been as a senior Facilities manager within the public sector in both England and Wales. My reason for being a Trustee of BulliesOut is that I’ve seen how bullying can affect a person’s whole life and I want to do whatever I can to stop that happening.
Emma Thomas ( Trustee & Secretary)
A Team Leader, with 2 years’ experience in managing a frontline customer service for a Housing Association and a small team of Customer Service Advisors. Additional experience of office administration covering a period of 17 years prior as well as a short temporary period immediately prior to current role as a Low Cost Home Ownership Officer to cover maternity leave. My personal skills centre on the ability to remain organised and focused and manage a team of people, the team’s workload and manage others’ expectations of the team to ensure they remain realistic and relevant.
“As a Trustee with BulliesOut I have an opportunity to give something back to the community at large, relating to an issue that I feel strongly and am passionate about having experienced bullying myself as a child. I strongly believe that bullying is a widespread issue and that BulliesOut can and does make a difference to the lives of those affected by bullying on a daily basis.”
Marina Lois ( Trustee )
I am a wedding planner with past senior management experience in the broadcast and transmission sectors, in which I gained a Prince II project management qualification. I moved to Cardiff in 2007, was introduced to Bullies Out in 2010 and joined the charity’s Board of Trustees in 2011. Since joining Bullies out, I have helped oversee fundraising and have even appeared on a game show with founder, Linda James to raise money. Amongst other things, I am currently heading up the charity’s 2012 expedition to Kilimanjaro.
Sophie Wint (Trustee)
I am a graduate of Cardiff Business School, and now live and work in Cardiff. After graduating, I joined a large accountancy firm, and now work primarily in the Public Sector.
This has given me a wide range of experience with charities and other public sector organisations, specifically in the areas of corporate governance and grant funding.
I applied to be a Trustee for Bullies Out in order to bring this knowledge and experience to a growing organisation, and to help further the aims and objectives of the charity.
I am actively involved in charity fundraising work; last year I completed the 3 Peaks Challenge, and have helped to organise several office fundraising events.
Keithley Wilkinson (Trustee)
I have over thirty years experience of working as a youth, community and social work practitioner, Practice Teacher, Children’s Services Manager, Lecturer and Senior Manager in social care, education and health. My experiences are underpinned by a strong blend of values, knowledge of legislation, policy and practice issues in Wales , and people skills. I have worked in the private, statutory and voluntary sector. I have numerous experiences in being a parent governor and a Board member of other charities. I am an advocate of the ‘one person can make a difference’ philosophy. I am lucky to have a wonderfully supportive partner and two lovely children.
My particular interests are in American Cinema from 1929 to 1979, Disco music of the 1970’s & 80’s as well as cooking.
